Happy Sunday!
And happy Pats Day.
Hopefully they win today. LFG!
But! If
you live somewhere in the NorthEast, chances are you're gonna see a lot of snow today. What better way to put all that new muscle you've gained to use with some shoveling! Or...if you haven't gained muscle...today may be a lot harder for you and some other people...
Working out is about going to the gym. Going to some type of "fitness" space. Lifting weights. Getting on machines to get your heart rate up. Going to classes. Doing all kinds of fancy things here and there. That's great. It's great to be able to go to a gym, class or whatever and get a workout in, feel good about yourself, then get on with your little day.
But, working out is SO much more than that. It's for days like today when you NEED to shovel snow. When you NEED to clear off your car. When you NEED to go help your neighbor down the road because they can't get themselves out...
That's why we want to be strong and workout. Sure its cool and fun to lift heavy things and jump around in classes to energetic music. But what's really fun is being able to shovel without being out of breathe. Without taking a million breaks. Without asking someone else to come help
you. Without worrying "am I going to be able to do this all". Or "am I going to hurt myself being out here". Being strong can help all of that.
Thats why we workout. For times like today. To be able to take care
of yourself. To be strong. To be strong FOR LIFE. Not just in the gym. Because what we do in the gym results in WHAT WE CAN DO IN LIFE. Yes we build strength in the gym. But we also build CONFIDENCE. We build BELIEF in ourselves. We build an attitude that we can do anything. That we can do tough things.
So when a little snow comes our way...we're not concerned for it. Instead, we embrace it and enjoy the "workout" a snow storm can provide us. We know we can go out and shovel because we've been in the gym doing a lot more difficult things than shoveling!
So use today as a two fold measurement:
If you are worried about all the snow and how are you going to handle it...maybe you need to start going to the gym and taking your health a bit
more serious.
If you're not excited for all the snow we're getting but you've been working out...think of this day as a workout and put all that new muscle to use!
We should be able to handle snowstorms. We're human beings. We have over 600 muscles in our bodies. For times like today, this is why we were given all those muscles. Use them😃👍🏻!
Have a great day!
