Happy Sunday!
A lot of people over complicate this health
and fitness thing.
And I don't blame them. There is so much shit out there. So much advice. So much info. So many "experts". Who do we trust? What plan do we get on? Will this work for me? What do we do?!?!
I'll tell you what works. Consistency. Like I said in last weeks newsletter.
There is no magic pill. Zero. Not even Ozempic or your favorite GLP-1 is magic. You still need to do all the things to get results with your body. Period.
So instead of trying to figure out all the latest trends, buzz words and what new quack is coming out with "the next best thing"..focus on things YOU can control. Focus on a few of these things below:
Having patience...this fitness thing takes a long time and should be done for the REST OF YOUR LIFE. Calm down, take the long road.
Being consistent....yeah you know the
drill.
Exercising each week...do what you can but just make sure to lift some heavy stuff!
Not complaining...you GET to change your body, a lot of people don't.
Self-love &
talk...talk nicely to yourself. Be proud of yourself. Build yourself up...because if you don't, who will?
Going to bed early...no, you don't get a medal for staying up late. Sleep is when our body resets, heals, grows...go to
bed.
Spending time outside/in the sun...we were meant to be outside. Human beings flourish in nature so get some of that inside your eyes from time to time.
Avoiding alcohol...it's poison. Don't try to justify it. Our body tries to eliminate it the second we consume it.
Get away from your phone...put that damn thing down. You don't need to be on it every second. You don't need to doom scroll. You don't need the latest update...go outside or talk to a human being.
Being bored...every single person has ADHD nowadays. We ALWAYS need to be doing something. Sit in silence and twiddle your thumbs...we all need more of that.
Celebrating
strangers...say Hi to someone once in a while. Open the door for another person. Tell someone else "good job". We're all on this spinning earth together, look at each other instead of down at your damn phone.
Worry about
YOU...who cares what diet your neighbor is doing. Who cares if Aunt Sally is on a GLP-1. Worry about yourself. Your life will improve...trust me.
Find your WHY...why are you on this earth? What can you do to improve your
life? What is it that you want to accomplish?
Just be a good person.
I thought about MANY of my clients while writing this. I hope some of you take this into the New Year and really hone in on some of these things above. Just pick one and go with it. Your life may just start to improve....
Have a wonderful day!
