Happy Sunday!
They are right around the corner...
Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's....
What are you going to do about them this year? Are you going to enjoy them? Or are you going to be stressed about what to eat? Should you eat? Should you eat before the party? What should you eat at the party? Do you eat at all?!?!?
Orrrrr you can start to understand how to navigate holidays and realize they are like any other day. Once you've gotten to a place where you understand health and fitness...then you've finally succeeded with health and fitness! Let's explain!
We should all be able to enjoy the occasional "bad foods and drinks" without feeling guilty about it. Without feeling like we set ourselves back. Without feeling shameful for indulging when we aren't suppose too. Well, we are SUPPOSE to do things we enjoy. And I enjoy eating some high calorie foods and drinks once in a while...and so do many people😁!
The reality of it is, the one day of a cookout, that one party your family has, the couple hours on a Saturday night that you might be enjoying some alcoholic drinks...are not going to make a difference in the grand scheme of things....if you are being
consistent the other 80% of the time!!
No one gained weight from one day. No one gained weight from one week. No one got fat from one holiday party. People gain weight from weeks and weeks and months and months and years and years of
BAD HABITS. Not one little holiday.
Now, many people may let that "one day of a holiday" turn into an entire weekend. Thats NAHT what we want to do people. We need to be able to rein it in once the day we
enjoyed has past. We can't let that spill over to the next day, the entire weekend or the entire next week. Thats where we fail and fall into bad cycle.
So! This holiday season, enjoy food without the guilt. Set yourself up for success so you
can finally realize that holidays won't ruin all your progress. You just don't know how to navigate them yet or how to navigate the rest of the year. You need to be consistent 80% of the time to enjoy these small holidays that occur 5% of the time. Like I said above, no one got fat from one holiday. Learn how to use food to your advantage instead of being a debby downer around holidays saying "I can't eat that" when in reality you know you "want to eat
that." And are probably "going to eat that." Just learn how to eat that and not feel guilty about it😉.
There's a way to do both. There's a way to be healthy and to enjoy your favorite foods. Theres a way to
build muscle but still indulge in alcohol once in a while. And if you don't think there is...well you just have no idea what your talking about.
Have a great Sunday!
