Happy Sunday!
One of the
best Sunday's of the year and also one of the saddest. It's the greatest game of the year but also when football comes to an end. That is very sad to me as I enjoy watching NFL football games each week. Football is a passion of mine for some of you that don't know me. I played football since I was 7 years old up until I graduated from College in 2013. I miss it everyday...
As many of us sit around today and watch football, I want you to think about doing a few of the things below:
- Go for a walk today...at some point. Or play some Pickleball like I did fo 2 hours this morning. Just do SOMETHING. MOST people are going to have some
bad food today. So do yourself a favor and get some steps in before you indulge in all of that. Get your body moving before the game so maybe having an extra chicken finger won't feel too bad later. Or having an extra slice of pizza won't be the end all be all because you set yourself up for success and took a 45min walk earlier in the day. Movement is key EVERYDAY but especially on days when we are going to have some high caloric
food.
- Focus on the PROTEIN. Every party contains lots and lots of yummy carbohydrates. They are easy to make and very, very delicious. Your going to have some of that today. Enjoy it. But, while your doing that, try to load up on protein either before the game or during the game. Protein will help keep you satiated. Higher protein intake increases thermogenesis. Eat the protein first. You'll get full
faster. You'll eat less overall. Boom.
- Don't freak out if you eat something bad. Don't think it's the end all be all. No one got fat from 1 day. People gain weight over many, many bad days. Just don't let this day go into tomorrow and the rest of the week. If you eat crappy foods and drinks today, oh well. You're going to feel like crap tonight and tomorrow but move on...don't set yourself back even
more.
- Get RIGHT back on track tomorrow. Get a solid workout in tomorrow. Your body will like that very much. You will have a ton of "energy" to use for a workout the following day so make sure to lift...and lift heavy!
- Make sure you're rooting for the Eagles. I heard the more people who root for them will make them
win😁.
But seriously, those 4 bullet points about movement, focusing on protein, not freaking out and getting right back on track can be helpful in many
social situations. Use these tools when you have other parties, gatherings and outings that might not provide the best food. This might help keep you more consistent for the long term!

Have a great day!
