Happy Sunday!
Â
Fall is a nice time of year. I, personally, wish it was
summer year round. I love the summer. I hate the cold and the winter. Oh well. One day I'll be living in a warm climate 24/7!
Â
A lot of people get sick this time of year. Season's are changing. Some people are on a
different schedule. Foods change. different things are going on - I get it.Â
Â
But, a lot of the time, I believe people are getting sick for some simple reasons. Here's what changes in the colder months and why we tend to get more
colds + viruses:
- We stay inside more + get less movement.Â
- We don't get as much sunlight as spring/summer.
- We breathe in more recycled air.
- Windows are not open as much.Â
- Daylight is shorter so we have less sun exposure.Â
- More baked goods and candy this time of year.
- More alcohol this time of year due to parties and gatherings.
- Less fresh food and produce is consumed.
- Less activity because of the cold.Â
- People lay around more because of the cold.Â
- We stay home more
because of the cold/shorter day light.
- More indoor sports/activities for kids.
And the list can go on and on. Those are just some things I thought of off the top of my head. And look, I'M GUITLY of some of those things above too...I'm no saint here! But, I try as hard as I can
to limit the things above as much as possible. I get outside when I can. I still try to move a lot indoors. And I indulge in some sweets, but I have things in moderation!
Â
Think about the list above
and try to change a few things during the next few months. Of course, there are certain things we can't help and we may get sick here and there. But, if you are CONSTANTLY sick...try to change some things this winter. It'll help come summer time next year!
