Happy Sunday!
And happy 2024 Summer
Olympics!
Watching the Olympics over the last week has me realizing I may not be working as hard as I could be...in life and just with my own fitness. Watching these people is amazing. Like really amazing sometimes. The things they are
capable of. The hard work they put in. The sacrifices they have made. Phew. Crazy to think about all of that. ANDDDDD, to top it off, this stuff only happens every 4 YEARS. These people work so effing hard to compete in something thats 4 YEARS apart. Now, we know they have different types of championships and events they compete at during the year, but, this level of competition happens every 4 years, thats some serious
determination and drive to keep up that level of training.
Which brings me to wonder:
- Can I be working harder?
- Should I be working
harder?
- Do I always give it my all?
- Could I train harder?
- Could I do something better to improve my life?
- And many, many more....
So ask yourself some of those above
questions but gear it towards your own life:
- Could you eat more protein throughout the day if you actually tried? Probably.
- Could you track your calories better? Probably.
- Could you get more steps in each day? Probably.
- Could you put down your phone and be
present more? Probably.
- Could you add a little more weight to your dumbbells or barbells? Probably.
- Could you push yourself more? Probably.
- Could you be a nicer person? Probably. 😁😉
Reflecting and asking yourself questions like the above will put you in a much better place, both mentally and physically. We all have our limits...but, usually we don't get close to reaching them. Thats why the army has drill sergeants. Thats why there are personal trainers like me. Thats why ALL of these OLYMPIANS HAVE COACHES. Someone can always push you harder than you could ever push yourself. But...pushing
yourself is the greatest of all. Challenging yourself both mentally and physically will do wonders for you.
Push yourself a little. Do things you didn't think you could even do. Sure the outcome is great, but that FEELING you will get
of not giving up, of hitting a goal, of doing something FOR YOU...is that much sweeter my friends....🤘🏻.
And think of these Olympians. Some of these people work so hard...for a small amount of time...but a BIG
amount of accomplishment.
Go USA. We're still the greatest country in the world. 🇺🇸
