Happy Sunday!
In terms of physical fitness - life will be hard one way or
another.
It's hard to go to the gym a few days a week. It's also hard to get off the couch when you don't go to the gym a few days a week.
It's hard to deadlift your body weight. It's also hard to tie your shoes when your 65 years old and have little to no muscle mass.
It's hard to go on a walk everyday and try to hit 10,000 steps. It's also hard to walk around an airport or travel when you retire when you've neglected yourself for the last 30 years.
It's hard to get up day after day after day and put yourself through workouts. You're sore, you're tired...I am too. But...I'd rather be sore and tired now, than be sore and tired and not be able to leave my house or walk up and down stairs.
We all have choices to make it life. At some point, life is going to be hard. It's going to be difficult. It's going to take some will power. It's going to take some resilience. I'd rather do that now. When I can. When I'm not struggling from behind.
I see too many people in their 60's, 70's and 80's having the most difficult time walking around the grocery store. Some things we can't help, but physical fitness is something we can all aspire to be better at.
I played pickle ball this morning with 3 guys who were all twice my age. Sometimes I stand there and think, man, these guys are fucking awesome...one day I'll be like them, going back and fourth with a 33 year old. That's the shit I aspire for. I never want to be held back by my physical capabilities...and you shouldn't
either.
