Happy Sunday!
Since 2023 is behind us and we are into 2024...let's reflect
on last year!
Many of you will look back on 2023 and wonder why you are not in the place you want to be with your body. Well...let me be the first to tell you that is on you. Not anyone else. Not your spouse, your kids, your pets or
me...Y...O...U. Look in the mirror because you are the only one who can get you to your goals. Sure, there is help along the way (from peeps like me), but the effort, consistency and way you go about it is most definitely on you.
Ask yourself a few of these questions:
Do you really want to change your body or do you just like the idea of changing your body?
A LOT of people, in my opinion, just like the idea of changing their body but in reality, don't want to actually commit to anything that will help change their body.
How many weeks out of the 52 were you actually consistent?
Consistency is the name of the game. I preach about this alllll the time. Can't be consistent 2/4 weeks in a month and expect to see change.
How many days this year did you actually get a workout in?
Gotta actually get some workouts in if you want the shape of your body to change! Working out isn't everything but it sure
does help!
How many days this year did you meal prep?
Failing to prepare is preparing to fail.
I'm sure you've all heard that before. If you are a busy person (out of the house alllll day) then YOU SHOULD be meal prepping. I meal prep. Tons of people meal prep. If losing weight is important to you, preparing your foods EVERYDAY will also be important to you.
How many days this year did you get daily movement in?
Moving your body every day is what will help burn more calories. Our bodies contain over 600 muscles, they were meant to move. Get off your ass and get some daily movement.
How many days this year did you hit your daily protein goal?
Protein is the only nutrient that aids in building muscle. If you want to reveal muscle and have
muscle...ya kinda need to eat protein. And preferably close to your body weight in grams each day.
How many days this year did you hit your daily calorie goal?
Ahhh calories in calories out. That is the basis of losing and gaining weight. If you are not tracking these...pshh, then you do not care about changing your body. This is #1.
How many days this year did you drink alcohol?
I love the alcohol one. People drink A LOT. Like a lot. I train a good amount of people each week and I'd say half of you drink 3-4 nights per week. Thats a lot. Especially if you want to lose weight. Alcohol is one of the worst things for us. And no Suzy Q, that wine
is not healthy for you...STFU.
You need to be realistic about the questions above, especially for those of you who are still trying to get to your goals. For some of you, theres a lot soul searching to do to actually know if you have been
accountable with yourself. This is one of the reasons I made my "report cards". It's to show you a reflection of YOUR weekly actions and how consistent YOU have been. I started them towards the end of the year last year but if you look back and you haven't really been consistent, you need to stop searching for answers and look at your damn self in the mirror. Shoot me a message if you'd like a copy of my report card again.
YOU need to be consistent. YOU need to take accountability for yourself. YOU are the only one who can change YOU. Stop blaming others or being a little cry baby why you haven't hit your new years resolutions year after year. Fitness is about consistency. Not about the fancy new
diet that just came out, the fancy new weight loss drug or the fancy new workout your friend is going to make you do. Heck, if any of those things worked...you'd actually need to be consistent with them too😉....(but they don't work for the lonngggg termmm).
Build some habits for yourself. Start the year off consistent because then it will carry throughout the year and into 2025. And do realistic shit. None of this '30 day love handle burn' or '10 day bullshit cleanse'...that shit doesn't work.
