Good morning!
I hope you are having a great weekend. I hope you are doing
things you enjoy, with people you like/love and keeping your stress levels low. If you want to feel better and get the body you desire, keeping your stress at bay and doing things you enjoy is one of the keys to success in my opinion.
You know what
else is a key to success? CONSISTENCY. Consistency over long periods of time will yield results over long periods of time...aka you staying the shape you want for the rest of your life without constantly going up and down and up and down. Which is why I came up with this fancy little report card below.
When we are kids...we have mechanisms put in place to allow us not to fail. EVERYONE receives a report card at some point in their life if they went to school between the ages of 5-12. Our teachers fill out how we've been doing, we bring it home to our parents and they get to see how consistent we've been in school and if we have been learning everything (for the most part). This helps keep us in check
throughout the year. If Johnny gets a "D" in science. We know Johnny needs to work harder at science and be more consistent there. Johnny may need extra help after school or to pay closer attention each week in class. Whatever he needs to do, that report card shows he has not been consistent.
Just like when I have clients come into my studio to train...I can tell if they haven't been consistent if their weights aren't going up each week, if their performance is dragging or if they keep complaining how the scale isn't changing (which is not the end all be all but thats another conversation). Nevertheless, it always comes down to because they are not being consistent.
You can train 3-5 days per week with me...but if you're not doing everything outside of training, then your body is not going to change...I don't care if you have the best trainer in the world...what you do outside of the gym matters wayyyyyy more than what you actually do in the gym.
SO. I came up with this nifty little "report card" attached below. It contains what I think are THE most important factors when it comes to being consistent and tracking your progress. Sure there are other factors like sleep, managing stress, etc...but I think if you hit these 4 metrics each day...over the course of 3, 6, 9 months + years and years...you will see a change. Print it out...fill it out each week...and
then tell me if you aren't making progress. YOU are the only one who can keep you accountable with this. Not me. Not your spouse. Not your animals. YOU. If you aren't hitting your goals..its because of YOU and your inconsistency. So be consistent. You will 100% see a change if you hit these metrics each week and each day. I GUARANTEE IT. How do I know? Because I hit these metrics every single day of my life 😉...for the most part.
