Hey!
Accountability...ya ya, you know you need that. Everyone does. It's inevitable with everything we do in life. You need to be accountable at your job (if ya wanna get paid), you need to be accountable for getting your kiddos to places on time (for the most part/if ya have them), you need to be accountable to wake up in the morning and get yourself ready for the day (unless you don't care about life at all). Anyways, whatever it is we do each day, we need some type of
accountability.
Fitness and nutrition are no different. They both require a tremendous amount of accountability. Actually....they are kinda different. Like really different. It is because (for the most part)
each day revolving around fitness and nutrition should be RELATIVELY the same. You should consume about the same amount of calories each day if you want to lose weight, maintain weight or gain weight. You should get some daily movement each day. You should hit the same amount of protein each day. You should consume the same amount of water each day. You should eat some veggies and green stuff each day. You should sleep about 6-8 hours each day. You should do something you enjoy
or makes you happy each day. You should.......see where I'm goin with this?
When it comes to fitness and nutrition, it's really hard at first. Like really hard. It's hard setting a schedule for the gym. It's
hard to meal prep. It's hard to hit your protein goal each day. It's hard to get 10,000 steps each day. It's hard to consume water when you've been drinking sugary drinks and shit all the time. The above stuff is HARD. But you know whats not hard? When you get into a groove and do this stuff day in and day out to function like humans are suppose to function. To have more energy, to get stronger, to not ache and pain when you get out of bed in the morning or when you walk into my studio (some of
you who train with me😉). Humans were made to thrive. We were given over 600 muscles and over 200 bones on our bodies for a reason. To use them and to use them well. Once you get into a groove with the above stuff, it becomes just like waking up and brushing your teeth each day (which I hope you all do).
Be accountable for yourself. Do some good shit for your body and your body will thank you by thriving. I do good stuff for my body each day. Yes I'm a trainer and fitness is my life but I CHOSE THIS. I chose to be in a gym everyday. I chose to make my life revolve around fitness. I choose to meal prep each week, strength train, go for daily walks and do what else I stated above.
Choose some good stuff for yourself as well...the benefits are awesome...trust me.
Here's a breakdown of what I do every single day of my life:
-Get movement in...Monday thru Friday I train about 9-12 sessions a day with clients in my studio...thats a lot of movement for me. I'll also try to go on a walk and get some daily sunshine for my body.
-Hit my calorie goal which is around 4,000 calories per day. To figure out your daily calorie goal...go HERE.
-Eat 200g of protein. Yes. I do this. Every. Single. Day. I don't miss on this.
-Drink over 100oz of water and electrolytes. Two
great electrolyte brands I use are LMNT and Re-Lyte.
-Manage stress. This is a biggie. I own a business. My wife and I depend on my income to live the way we do. Thats kinda stressful. I play pickleball, lift heavy weights, have my dogs lick my face...those keep me stress free.
-Eat some green things. I hate vegetables. With a passion. They taste bad even when I try to make them taste good. But. I need them. My body needs them. I eat them daily to get all the little micronutrients my body needs.
-Theres other stuff. But those above are the big ones. I do this stuff pretty much everyday. I don't miss. I'm accountable. I'm thriving. You can as well.
Much love,
Nick✌️
